Interview was pretty standard, done over video, usual "talk about yourself" and "tell me why you think you're a good fit for this position" questions. What stood out to me though was that the interviewer never introduced himself during our conversation. I had looked him up before starting, so I knew who he was (the president/founder of the company), but this was a major red flag for me. This is such a basic thing to do, it is the basis of a respectful interaction with people, and the lack of it made me immediately feel unwelcomed. Moreover, the fact that the president was doing the first round on interviews also told me that they are strapped to a bare minimum crew, which is consistent with the "high turnover" I've seen online. To finish it off, he was then upset I could not start right away to work for them...but I had applied to that position 4 months prior and they had contacted me out of the blue!! I had frankly forgot I had applied, and had to check my records. On paper this seemed a cool place, but right off the bat too many red flags of a toxic and unrespectful environment to be worth my time!
