Recruiter contacted me through LinkedIn and started the conversation with promises of upfrontness about compensation and benefits, and also claimed that the company had visa sponsorships. After 2 lengthy phone calls, the recruiter simply stopped responding to emails and texts without so much as an explanation. After 2 months of ghosting, he sent an email saying that my case had been transferred to a different recruiter, who then said he wasn't ready to share the salary or benefits until I went through their legal department and submitted all my immigration documents for analysis. I ended up declining to continue. 6 months later I learned through the news that that whole department was fired after an apparently frequent Musk freakout. Dodged a bullet there...
