Very easy to get in initially. Boot Camp for 10 weeks - if you make it through boot camp you're in. Talk to a recruiter initially and find out the details on the next steps. I thought I was going in for a different position, but was given the opportunity to join the US Navy. Everyone is helpful and wants you to succeed.

No interview to join. Just Asvab, medical screening at MEPS and SF86. No regrets. Be sure to choose a good rate though that will help you if you decide to get out.
Treat the recruiting process with how important it truly is. Consider the job of a recruiter, its to obtain numbers and people. They won't lie but they will certainly glamorize it and won't tell you about some of the downsides to working in the military. It has its challenges and no matter what you've done in life it will be a culture shock.
