Phone interview consisted of describing the jobs duties, and location, and verifying that my skill set would more than covered their requirements.and duties of the contract. After covering all aspects of the actual daily duties, they told me that to be considered I would need to provide them my social security number over the phone, which i declined to do.

Reviewed my skills, asked about pay rate, then asked for my complete social security number with no offer of a job. Was told they required it to even begin to consider my application for a contract position.
