He asked me about my salary expectation, and I said I could do a part-time for this role as the full-time salary is lower than what I expected, and I also shared my expectation. And I think he finally got impatient and thought I was a liar (or whatever he thought I was). He said: "Ok, I think you can go look for these high salary full-time jobs first, and after two months, when you realize you won't find any jobs, you can come back to us, and we will see if we could arrange a second interview with you." HOW ARROGANT!!!!!! IT'S JUST A STUPID ADMIN JOB WITH A 10K RMB ($1563 USD) MONTHLY SALARY!!!!! AND HE STILL THOUGHT I WON'T FIND ANY JOB BETTER THAN THIS?????
After expressing his disappointment and suspicion about my bachelor's degree for another few minutes, he started to question my Chinese language proficiency. He said: "I see you use a lot of English terms when talking, I'm not sure if you can use Chinese properly." I almost laughed, because I'm a native Chinese, and he's a Malaysian. I got almost a full score in my Chinese Writing in Gaokao (that he's so obsessed about). And this is just more than awkward, I'm talking with him in Chinese the entire time, and I've been using Chinese my whole life, but he still couldn't decide if I have the ability to use Chinese, simply because I inserted a few English words in our conversation, JUST AS WHAT HE'S BEEN DOING.
Then, the hiring manager asked me what university I went to for my Bachelor's degree, I said my university's name (top100 global ranking) and told them I studied both in China and UK, because the university has 3 different campuses globally, and he didn't believe me. He kept silent for a long time and went googling my university. When he found his answer, he asked if my University was a '985' university (985 represents a series of Chinese domestic universities that you need a higher Gaokao score to get in). I said no, because it's a foreign university, and then he said he has no confidence in my university b/c of this 985 bs. I said I gained my Master's degree at XXX (top 50 global ranking) trying to help him understand my academic background, but he ignored my efforts and wouldn't let go of the '985' thing.
Firstly, they want me to introduce myself in English (I'm Chinese), after talking for about a minute, the manager interrupted me and said HE DID NOT UNDERSTAND ENGLISH, and asked me to start all over again in Chinese, so I did it.
