I would counsel him/her regarding personal responsibility, time management and make them aware that other staff have had to step up and cover their work (without getting extra remuneration). I would also 'write them up' issue a warning and ask them if there was any problems or issues causing him/her to be late, and suggest a possible change of work hours/days to resolve the problem. Less
