Tell me about yourself

2 Answers

This is the first question in almost any interview. Do not tell them your life story. Talk about your job experiences. This is what I said, “my name is Nicole, and I have a degree in XYZ from university of XYZ. I started my career in _____.” Etc. But don’t make it too long. Think of an “elevator pitch”. Less

This caught me off guard. I don't know why as it is the most common interview question. I stumbled through this but I think I did OK. Less

The first interview is difficult because its unclear what they are looking for.

2 Answers

The first interview is a personality test. Apple is testing your people's skills. They want to see how the people at your table react to you. If you are engaging, making eye contact. If the people at your table look interested in what you are saying, are they having a good time? It really is about how well you can fit in in a new place with new people. I thought it was easy but did see a lot of people struggling. It's a different kind of group interview, but if you have no problem meeting new people and getting along with others you'll be fine. Plan a trip for me to (randomly chosen location). Ask me any questions you want to make sure I have the best experience possible.

2 Answers

There's no wrong answer. They want to know how you work and think.

Interview the person with the following sequences of questions: 1) Your favorite locale? (people, place or time) 2) Any particular reason? (memory, fantasy, dream) 3) What the person would like to do? After you collect all the answers. Construct a scenario of the trip and see the reaction of the person. If positive, you've succeeded. If not, plan a different trip scenario. Less

If you could have a coffee with anyone, who would it be?

2 Answers

We were asked this question also in a group interview with maybe 25 people. I said Desmond Tutu, turns out I was the only one who knew who he is. Kind of sad... Less

I wouldn't mind having a coffee with anyone. A friend, someone famous for their work, manager, colleague, whoever. As a coffee enthusiast i can start a conversation about their particular choice of coffee, my choice of coffee, life in general, career envision, etc. So.. Pretty much anyone for a nice chit chat ^^ Less

Advertise this paintbrush! What are its features and benefits?

2 Answers

If this question was asked to me during an interview (especially if it is a sales position)..I would turn it around and ask the interviewer.."What are your needs when looking to purchasing a paintbrush?" "Give me two main features you are looking for"? When the interviewer gives me 2 features, I would embellish on those 2 features and be passionate about what those features can do for the customer and how it will improve their experience. Less

Tell me about a time when you felt something was unfair towards you. What was the outcome?

Inadvertently down-voted this, thinking it was a scroll button.

I believe what they are looking for is how you problem solve socially. Think of a conflict that you've had with peers that you were able to successfully resolve. Less
