The Technology Support Services Presales Supervisor is a highly technical, hands on presales leader responsible for designing, positioning and promoting active infrastructure solutions across the region. The position will lead, mentor, and develop a team of Technology Support Services Specialists on technology related products, projects, and initiatives while themselves providing technical expertise to internal and external customers. This position acts as the technical authority for key active OEMs, drives OEM partnerships and supports complex regional and global opportunities and partners closely with Sales to deliver technically sound and commercially viable solutions. The Supervisor will liaise and engage with the Technology Support Services leadership for complex, multi-discipline and global opportunities to ensure that comprehensive solutions are provided.
Detailed Description:
The majority of the Supervisor’s time is spent from the desk working virtually with Wesco customers through our sales representative organization. The Supervisor will assign Specialists on the team to assist as required and ensure that workload is balanced across the team. The Supervisor will engage in three-way conversations with the sales representative and the customer for Pre-Sales Application support, providing technical guidance and developing a Bill of Materials that meet the customer’s specific needs.
Presales and Solution Ownership
- Act as the primary technical presales lead for active infrastructure opportunities including routing, switching, wireless, security, data centre networking, computer & storage and associated management platforms.
- Lead technical discovery, solution architecture, and positioning for complex enterprise, hyperscale, and strategic accounts across APAC.
- Develop end to end solution designs, validate architectures, and produce high quality Bills of Materials aligned to customer requirements and standards.
- Participate directly in customer facing engagements, technical workshops, and executive level discussions as the subject matter expert.
OEM Management and Vendor Alignment
- Own technical relationships with key active infrastructure OEMs and ecosystem partners.
- Maintain deep working knowledge of major OEM portfolios, roadmaps, competitive positioning, and differentiation.
- Coordinate OEM technical escalations, technology validations, proof of concept activities, and solution endorsements.
- Influence OEM strategy and enablement activities in alignment with regional and global presales objectives.
Regional and Global Engagement
- Take responsibility for presales support across Southeast Asia, India, and broader APAC, including multi country and global programs.
- Support large scale, complex, or strategic bids requiring cross regional collaboration and multi discipline inputs.
- Act as the regional technical escalation point for active infrastructure solutions.
Sales Enablement and Technical Leadership
- Partner closely with Sales to shape opportunities, qualify technical requirements, and position differentiated solutions.
- Provide technical coaching and enablement to sales teams and junior presales resources where required.
- Support development of technical content, reference architectures, and best practices for regional reuse.
Continuous Technical Excellence
- Stay current on emerging technologies, architectures, and industry trends within enterprise and data centre networking.
- Ensure solutions align with security, resiliency, scalability, and performance best practices.
- Contribute to internal standards, playbooks, and presales governance.
