Internships at HubSpot

At HubSpot, interns aren’t interns in the traditional sense of the word. No coffee runs here. Interns make real decisions, produce real work, and drive real results.

  • HubSpot has internship programs during the Spring, Summer and Fall semesters, as well as six-month co-op placements.

  • Each program is built to help our interns learn key marketing, coding, and business skills, and also take advantage of the the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of a rapidly growing software company, while having some fun along the way, of course!

    I have been working at HubSpot full-time (Less than a year)


    HubSpot values learning and growing - and it practices what it preaches. As a HubSpotter, I have always felt like my job was being valued. Additionally, It's surprising to see how the leadership focuses a lot on the personal development of all employees, and I see myself growing as much as I want to in HubSpot. Never want to leave this place!


    The company is growing rapidly and is naturally prone to many cons of a normal "entreprise", so the next few years is going to be an important period as much as it would volatile and unpredicted.

    I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at HubSpot (Cambridge, MA (US)) in October 2019.


    I found their job posting online and was emailed a coding challenge a few days later. You were given three hours to complete the following problem: You must hit a unique api to receive json data, modify and analyze the data, and then generate json in a specific format and post the data back to a different url. If the data was formatted correctly it responded with a 200 and you were told to zip up your code and upload it.

    After the coding challenge I was asked to schedule a phone screen with a recruiter. They asked common questions about my experience, why hubspot, why ____, etc. At the end of the phone screen I was told the next step if I make it will be a final round on site interview, and that they will let me know of their decision in a week or so.

    I ended up getting to the final round interview. It was four parts. First part was a a tour of their office, second was a technical interview with a CS question about n-grams that could be programmed in any language of my choosing. The third interview was half behavioral half javascript specific, focusing on prototype inheritance, closures, etc. The last section was a wrap up about my interview experience and any suggestions, salary expectations, other outstanding offers, etc.

    A few days later I was given a phone call and given an offer that exceeded my expectations
