    Warehouse Manager Interview

    Interview

Overall, after receiving my Dear John letter (with my name spelled incorrectly), I get the perception that their recruiters are scatter brained, full of HR cliches, and just really bad at their jobs.

I applied for the position and the recruiter left a VM with me. After calling her and leaving multiple VMs, it took 2 weeks to hear back on an interview.

Finally, we set up some time to speak, however, the recruiter then told me I was more qualified for an entry level position. I had the same job right out of college. She still offered to speak to me though.

I explained during our 15 minute discussion that I was not willing to take a pay cut and sold her on my skills. She seemed to like what she heard and said she was following up with the hiring manager that day. She said a Zoom interview would most likely be set up.

After a week, I followed up, and she said she was speaking with the hiring manager. I heard nothing for another week, and got a Dear John with grammatical errors that made no reference to the position I had applied for.

Overall, my perception of the company is one of reaction, lack of strategy, and that the HR department strings candidates along. When the recruiter keeps dropping terms like “we are looking to source talent like yours” and “you would be a great fit for the team” a form letter is every indication that their HR department is probably a burden to them.

When speaking about the company's pandemic response during the WomenExecs on Boards talk, our CEO Chris Brickman said, " “Coming out of this we’ve managed to adapt and succeed in a new model. It was rewarding to go through the worst of it and then a couple of months later sitting there and saying ‘Wow, the team really did an amazing job managing through this.’”
