    Pros

Work on projects for Top-40 French clients, offering latest digital communications products. Located in the heart of Paris, working with major companies with a global presence, who are not afraid to headhunt you.

    Cons

Lack of opportunities for growth, revolving door, little financial reward. The office culture was sometimes very fun, but other times very down. Many young, talented people, snapped up straight after graduating from excellent French business schools, wondering how the hell they ended up there.

    Application

The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at WordAppeal (Paris (France)) in October 2017.

    Interview

A written test followed by four interviews (three via Skype as I was based out of Paris, and one at their HQ). The interviews were extremely repetitive and generic - as they were all with different people who had never met me before - so mostly spent walking them through my CV and why I applied for the job.

I was kept waiting for 20 minutes before my interview at HQ with the directors. I found their questioning style extremely aggressive and personal. For example, when walking them through my CV and saying I worked as a communications specialist (my exact job title), their response was it was impossible to a communications specialist and I should be more specific. I was asked how old I was (normal in France) and what my family members did for a living, which I almost refused to answer as it has no bearing on my ability to do my job.

All in all, a very odd experience. They responded almost 4 weeks later and left me a voicemail saying I was unsuccessful. Even if I had been offered the job, I would have refused because of the abysmal interview experience.
