      Great benefits for employees. Scalable growth with internal opportunities. Commendable salary package.

      Great benefits and opportunities to grow as an individual. One of the leader in premium travel services.

      Cons

      So much for the blue box values where one should respect the local community. Too many incompetent Filipinos get promoted by their own Filipino managers, which is part of the reason why complaints are rising. Favoritism rules the department, causing a lot of unhappiness among staffs who felt they were treated unfairly. The Singapore core which our government promotes is not practice by the company, which in turn is like a slap in the face for the company promoting their blue box values. As a local, I felt like a minority here.

      Pros

      leadership team live by the bluebox value very much which makes the culture very pleasant and conducive to work in. there is alot of openness and respect for people and collaboration between business units. its a very healthy and positive environment where they have great benefits and top leaders to back them up. you will find decent worklife balance and depending on which business unit, some has the flexibility to work from home etc. you will find yourself learning and building your personal brand and they encourage internal movements for job rotation to keep one learning and growing after 2-3 years.

      Cons

      alot of learn on the job and opportunity for you to explore and drive projects. therefore you need to be hungry to learn, resiliant and have courage. learning curve can be steep and sometimes you got to define your own job scope - depending how you see it can be good/bad. :) middle level managers who just got promoted from an individual contributor will go through leadership training but sometimes may not be great leaders who mentors well but then again its very rare to find great managers even in other organisations yoi think? it would be fair to say that amex has a robust program for new leaders which is not what we find in other organisation, the rest is up to the person himself.

      Great brand to work on, great benefits, exciting products, international flavor, plenty of travel and interaction with global team members

      Cons

      Stressful environment with aggressive deadlines and tough senior management, lack of work life balance particularly at junior levels and mid-management
