      Pros

Flexibility, good corporate culture, ability to move job functions. Overall would recommend Amex to those interested in cards, marketing, payment space.

      Cons

Pay. Not convinced the most ambitious people join Amex due to low pay and good work life balance. Senior positions become quite political.

      Pros

Big brand, good job opportunities across globe, willing to invest in training, staff benefits are good

      Cons

Work life balance doesn't happen in all depts, many depts are running with skeleton man power, some are 1 person doing 2.5 persons job with no increment as it is call as restructuring and maximising resources. Pomotion happens even if the person hv no work attics, its about who you know & be in senior leaders favourite book. Political environment plus all teams not communicating with each other, when issues surface up, just hv plenty of meetings to see who is the lucky one that need to take up the blame & clear the mess. Global & local senior leaders are giving different directions for some business units, so it's always the lowest ranking leaders from all units taking the impact. No standard process across the globe which causing same role in different country manage different level of workload and accountability. With most time singapore having the heavest workloads when compare.

Good resume builder but limited career growth

      Pros

Great brand and company to have on your resume Good family paid time off If your leader(s) and team is great, you'll have a good experience. Very easy to move around the company and try something new, as long as your boss has your back. Smart and hard working individuals

      Cons

Very political. Colleagues won't hesitate to throw you under the bus when they get a chance. Usually it's, who do we blame vs lets fix this problem and move on from it. Competitive environment As most people has mentioned on here, pay is below par for NYC. Work will get monotonous. All the interesting and good ideas have been done already. And there's little appetite to try something new. Too much time spent creating power point slides. Very slow moving since there are so many levels that need to get approval. Used to have good work life balance but not so much anymore since the company has gone more lean.
