Pros

Above-market salary. Excellent career growth for the management's favourites.

Cons

Where to start? - EXTREME toxicity and invasion of privacy. They make you use activity-tracking software to track daily tasks - the software records EACH webpage you visit, and tracks each individual CHAT on different messaging platforms. ZERO privacy. - Unrealistic expectations - the management expects you to put in 9-10 hours daily. They will set your KPIs and will constantly ask you to go above and beyond your JD to be considered for even basic bonuses, no matter how well you achieve your KPIs. - No structured plan. The marketing plan keeps changing every month. The leadership has no idea what they're doing. They keep restructuring teams and reassigning roles. Personal expertise be damned, what even is that? The CEO has a quarterly change in priorities and has no idea of current trending marketing channels in B2B SaaS. - Poor leadership. The leadership blames a lack of sales on the marketing team, without acknowledging a lack of a product-market fit. Even within marketing, there is no innovation. - False promises and favoritism. There is a group of employees, the inner circle, that is safe and is the recipient of constant awards and bonuses and promotions DESPITE MULTIPLE layoff cycles and complaints of falling revenue. If the revenue is falling, HOW does it make sense to give multiple promotions to the Marketing and HR directors while you are laying off the people who are doing the hard work??

Thank you for sharing your feedback. At Astera, we set high expectations because we aim to stay ahead in a competitive industry. We expect our team members to continuously push their limits and take full ownership of their work. Regarding performance tracking, we believe in transparency and accountability to maintain fairness across teams. Our approach to performance expectations is clear from the start — members are encouraged to go beyond their basic job descriptions to truly stand out. We reward those who demonstrate exceptional impact, offering rapid career growth, bonuses, and incentives. However, we acknowledge that this environment may feel demanding for some. In terms of marketing strategy, we are constantly adapting to market trends and business needs. Strategic shifts are part of any dynamic organization, and agility is essential in a fast-evolving industry like B2B SaaS. While changes may sometimes feel abrupt, they are made with the bigger picture in mind. As for leadership decisions, we ensure that promotions and rewards are performance-driven. Those who take initiative, demonstrate ownership and reliability, and drive results are recognized accordingly. At the same time, when business challenges arise, difficult decisions—including structural changes—are sometimes necessary. We appreciate your contributions during your time with us and wish you success in your future endeavors.

Pros

- Above market competitive Salary

Cons

- Too much politics - Favoritism in every department - no senior leadership - no end goal - if they don't like you they will fire you - people working more then 9 hours to save jobs - too much micro management - no learning and development culture - late night meetings. - good work culture is only shown on walls otherwise it is very toxic - Ceo has mood swings and change the direction of product every month - in front of ceo every team lead changes statement just say yes to what the ceo is saying and don't defend there teams - if you are part of particular group in company you can stay there otherwise start counting your days in company

Pros

They pay you well. I think that is the only benefit.

Cons

Oh boy, don't get me started. Everyone who wants to join this company as a software engineer needs to read these things very carefully! - The company is directionless. They keep starting and shutting down projects based on the CEO's mood swings. - The CEO pokes his nose in every project, gives random suggestions, and keeps changing the requirements every 2–3 days. - There is a lack of senior resources in the company; mostly, we rely on trial and error. - The company has a legacy .NET tech stack. They are trying to move to the cloud but are facing issues due to a lot of technical debt. The CEO is very impatient and has put things on the back burner. - You won't get a chance to work on a production-grade system. They rely on desktop apps/windows installers and have a monolithic architecture, which doesn't offer much to learn. - Lately, members of the Marketing Department have become the de facto 'godmothers' of developers, setting unrealistic deadlines and expectations due to their lack of technical expertise. - They lay off people randomly. They even laid off people who regularly worked 10 hours daily and worked on weekends. - If you want to get promotions, you need to be in the good books of CEO, and a particular group of people at the company. - The company is portrayed as very accommodating and having a nice cooperative environment, but behind all those smiling faces is a grim reality. You only realize this when you have spent some time at this place and see the underlying toxicity at play. - The US hierarchy's behavior is borderline demeaning. They will treat you like crap. - There's no work-life balance. There's an unspoken expectation to work extra, and working on weekends is considered normal.
