Pros
The company is contributing to share what's next for musicians, and it's stimulating to work in this environment; because we have to build it.
Cons
The pace is high, and things change fast! We need to keep learning, unlearning and relearning!

Pros
You almost don't face any dramatic deadlines. Technical decisions are made with getting everyone's opinion.
Cons
The company is conservative when it comes to internal atmosphere. There's almost no effort towards team building.

Pros
A lot of opportunity to try a wide range of projects if you’re in the right role.
Cons
Silos and poor communication are the norm. Constant last minute projects. Positive feedback is not a norm, instead feedback mostly focuses on what doesn’t work. This approach to feedback doesn’t build psychological safety or a positive culture. Proximity to C suite determines everything - from projects assigned to career path.

Pros
will be good if you like music
Cons
From my perspective, management in engineering does not want to manage. They just want to be engineers. While this is fine in a small company, at the size of bandlab with many employees, the managers are actively hindering progress by not doing their job. If you need managers instead of ICs, please hire some actual managers or at least people who dont mind being a manager. Engineering excellence is not prioritized. Engineering excellence requires the whole engineering team to work together to build better, more resilient products. When requests were made to another team to make a feature easier to develop or to fix a bug that would make the product obviously better, the answer was almost always no and the answer was always to do 2-3x more work to work around stupid, unnecessary restrictions. HR does not help employees. While I worked at other companies and saw ineffective HR, this is the first time where I saw active disdain of employees by HR. Simple questions have to be checked up by the C suite and managers before they can be answered. Any request you make, they make you feel like you are asking for too much.

Pros
You are constantly surrounded by musicians and have different opportunities to explore all parts of the music industry! If you are a gearhead, you would be entitled to different staff discounts.
Cons
Can be more vibey. For a music company, we can be really quiet about our love for music.

Pros
Chill place to work at! Great colleagues.
Cons
The micro-management from higher-ups and lack of HR or a legal team can make things bottleneck.
- Former Employee★★★★★
Pros
A big deal if u are music aficionado Work from home benefits Chill environment Pantry’s decent Kind of a good place to learn/base your career for a few years and then move on
Cons
- Though hierarchy’s rather flat and company’s relatively small, plenty of miscomm/no comm exists between teams/depts - Unless u have a direct channel with the big boss and gets to tick off his big boxes, chances of u getting promoted is generally slim. If you’re hired into a cog position, you’re a cog for life in the company (unless your direct boss is a good fella or someone above you leaves.) - Staff benefits is mediocre and nothing to shout about

Pros
Work-life balance but depends on your direct manager and job scope. Some nice people to work with.
Cons
Low morale at the working level. Negligible room for career progression and growth. Poor time management across projects; lull periods are plagued with last-minute launches.
