Pros

Work environment is amazing, team members are mostly fun, open and energetic! Culture is good for learning (also dependent on the level you enter and people you work with), but because of the positive and entrepreneurial culture, people there are mostly nice and forthcoming, and there's a good chance you will meet someone nice enough to learn from.

Cons

Remuneration should be better. Pay based on the job you're hiring that person for, not because you can save some funds on paying "based on previous salary"......

- Product conversion is pushed very heavily - Tip amounts on services instead of standard 10%, 15%, 20%, your options are $1, $2, $3 which is very unfortunate on services that can be up to $110 - In store you manage the entire brow bar which is like running your own business for a wage that should be higher - You are responsible for educating& coaching (if located inside a Sephora) you should be getting paid what the Leads get paid at sephora but you will receive less than the average Sephora Beauty Advisor while doing 5x the work and extra tasks - Your manager will likely not work in your store or even province and be very hard to reach if you need assistance with anything and forget about getting regular supply orders so you'll have to learn to adapt with what you have.

I worked with a great team whom ive made friends for life with, I also loved doing brows on counter every day especially in busy times and also good discounts for staff.

Very greedy company, targets are extremely high and unrealistic and made to feel very guilty if they are not reached. Also make you walk the floor and try to get customers and annoy people and sometimes get verbally abused trying to get customers over to your counter and this was not good for my mental health, left me crying days with people shouting at me for being greedy and being cursed at just for doing what i was told to do.

I work for Benefit within a Boots which means I’m on a Boots contract and have far better pay and employee benefits compared to someone who works for Benefit in a department store or boutique

Company have an overwhelming toxic mindset when it comes to performative positivity. They can’t handle when someone is feeling down or going through a tough time. It doesn’t fall in line with their silly company slogan and you will be bullied out. It’s very much like being a high school. My area manager is a bully and has awful staff retention numbers. I’ve been told I look miserable and it puts her in a bad mood when she sees me. The length of service rewards are ridiculous. I’ve been here 6 years and I can chose between a pencil case, a notebook or an iPhone 4 case! Benefit charges customer £27 for a wax and tint but only reward their staff £1 for doing service. Same for brow lamination. How can they justify charging nearly £50 for a service that takes an hour but only allowing their staff to make £1 from it?!
