I worked at Blizzard Entertainment full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Had an amazing culture for anyone with a nerdy background. Anything you were interested in, you could find others on campus that shared your interest. However, I'm conflicted if I should rate the company on my experience before things started going down hill or not.

    Cons

If you are not on a game team you are a second class citizen. You are paid less and get less perks than those on game teams. Pay is much lower than industry standards in the region. After hearing about the mass exodus that's going on after layoffs, I'm glad I was one of the ones that was laid off. People are currently scrambling to change teams or get jobs with other companies. I know multiple people trying to get...

I have been working at Blizzard Entertainment full-time for more than 3 years

      Pros

Genuinely amazing workplace. I know there are a lot of folks out in social media and reddit who believe Blizzard is "losing its soul" but it can't be further from the truth. Cons

      - Strong focus on games teams means they get almost all the resources they ask for. Some people feel shafted but it doesn't really hinder most other teams as much as it's made out to be. - Management transition - it's never an easy task and most of us are still waiting it out to see how the new team will lead us into the future. I'm optimistic and willing to wait patiently to see what happens. Feels weird but so...

      Advice to Management

Maintain what makes Blizzard unique to the rest of the technology and gaming landscape. So far, you've done a great job and I personally still believe in what you're doing. Just don't let us and your community down.
