Pros

I love the front line employees. Many great people that really want to be successful

Cons

When joining Calero-MDSL I honestly thought this might be the place I retire. I hoped for a situation where I could be the best version of myself. But this was not the case and over time things greatly became visibly clear I could not grow my career in this company. As of late the culture has become toxic to the point where it is affecting my work, trust and belief in the company. In my opinion leadership is responsible for this feeling in the company as there is no acknowledgment or accountability to the lack of operational improvements. This has led to broad employee dissatisfaction and attrition. This has caused more work to be given to fewer tenured folks like me. And for insult we reflect to the world all of these internal promotions like there real opportunity for the general employee. Its all window dressing as when you get behind the curtain what I thought was a software company is powered by the backs of people like me. Nobody has time when you need help. The best of us are too busy to break away from their mountains of workload. And when the leaders give you time , it’s just enough for them to talk down to you and make you feel stupid. There is this basic assumption that because you’ve been here over a year that you should just “get it”. Personally, since day one I’ve been given the hardest pieces of work in the most archaic system, with very few people around me that understand and can do the work. Now others have been being brought into the company in the same position get to do their work in the new systems with updated training and technology. This gives them a glide path to higher productivity and materially shames the rest of us forced to work the old way. It does not make sense that my work never was look at for what it was.. Heavy, complex, and burdensome. It would have been great for my bosses to acknowledge that and at least value my work like they do that that get high numbers using the new systems. Employee appreciation is lacking greatly. The best we get is a quarterly awards winner randomly selected from each organization. Rarely does the day-to-day acknowledgement happen when someone goes the extra mile. They fail to find moments to speak life into you or motivate you to kick it into another gear. They only have time to tell you your short comings and use statistics (as stated above) that make no sense to justify keeping you in your role. There is no form of advancement unless you personally make friends with the “good old boys”. Instead of creating a plan that you can following to help you progress through your career they will tell you you’re not good enough that then pile more on you. Which makes no sense if I was underperforming right? Bottom line is stay away from this place if you are looking for a place to grow. Stay away from this place if your looking for leadership that cares. The Exec team is either out of touch or cannot do anything to make it better. At the result is the back breaking grind of an appreciated work and a low dollar paycheck. I write this not to be a troll or negative but to light fire at this company to make the necessary changes to take care of their employees. If not more will follow me right out the door.

Pros

A paycheck gets deposited into my bank account

Cons

any positive review posted on 10/22 or after is fake. go ahead and count how many of them were posted in a single day. Why you ask? Because management asked employees to go onto glassdoor and post positive reviews to boost the rating.

Thank you for your feedback. In our recent All Hands Meeting on October 22, we asked employees to provide comments on Glassdoor, share links about open positions on both Facebook and LinkedIn, and refer others to work for us to help us accelerate hiring due to client growth. We invited all feedback, both positive and constructive/negative. We appreciate that you took the time to write a review; it sounds like you have some concerns about leadership. We are consistently seeking to improve and welcome all feedback. We’d be interested in more specific details about your experience so that we can partner with you in making Calero a better place to work. Please feel free to contact the HR department at hr@calero.com to discuss in further detail.

Don't believe the positive reviews

Pros

The fact that you get a paycheck is the only positive thing about working here. And some of the employees are nice. And they always have a monthly treat for birthdays 🎂

Cons

The CEO asked for positive reviews but I have integrity and believe in being honest. The positive reviews you see are likely written by management executives or jelly back employees who are afraid to really speak up. This company and its communication practices are the worst! The only people who could possibly enjoy working here is upper management because they do whatever they want to and they don't care about their employees or keep them in the know. The Town Hall meetings are pointless and did I mention boooring 😴. Nothing gets executed from the meetings. Nothing. The morale is HORRIBLE. It's non existent. No one ever seems to want to be at work. And some of the executives don't even take a second look at you, let alone speak if you don't look like them.
