Pros

Honestly there aren’t many, culture is absolutely toxic.

Cons

Sales management is a laughing stock. Nobody in the company respects them or their opinions. Sales reps are constantly embarrassed when management interacts with customers. There is no plan , no gtm strategy, and Managements racist political rants on social media make everyone who works at Champro uncomfortable and unmotivated. If you asked any rep , you would be hard pressed to find one where management was able to offer help or a plan to increase sales, or even a reasonable problem resolution when Champro makes a mistake. ( which is several times per week) Hopefully this company sells soon and saves itself from a slow painful downward spiral. Some of this might be tolerable to an extent if the compensation wasn’t so bad. Do not work here , seriously avoid at all costs. You can do better.

Pros

Met some awesome people in my department

Cons

Your productivity is constantly being tracked and watched. Going above and being is unnecessary since you won’t be compensated or promoted for working hard. They also only give raises and promotions based on how long you’ve been at the company rather than performance. Always looking for the cheapest ways to cut corners and save money. Huge expectations and nasty customers. Compensation is very low for having a college degree. You won’t gain much experience as a production artist/designer and there is very little creative freedom. Issues are swept under the rug and toxic individuals thrive. Unwilling to make change and adapt

I’m sorry to hear that after so many years with us you felt this way. In production roles tracking of productivity is an unfortunate reality. The company is selling a service and we need to understand and control costs to be viable. You are correct that there is less space for creativity in a production role. I hope that you would be proud of the strong contribution that you made to immense change while you were here. You were a crucial part of a team that made amazing progress. Taking excellent care of employees has always been a priority. I think it’s important to differentiate between managing costs to be competitive in a rapidly changing part of the market and being “cheap”. I hope that the funds that have been placed in your profit-sharing account over the years provide cause to rethink how we appreciate our team members. CHAMPRO far exceeds other U.S. companies with its contribution to increasingly rare employee profit-sharing accounts. I’m sorry that you had an experience with a team member that so strongly affected how you view the entire company. We hope that team members will approach their manager, human resources or top management when there is a detrimental situation. We will do everything we can to make our team work well. Every team member receives annual performance reviews. Increases in compensation are based on performance and not on tenure. We’re out to be the best team that we can be and I’m saddened to hear how your experience at CHAMPRO ended.

Pros

Down to earth leadership team! When the president says his door is open, it really is. I've heard upper management say this at other companies and employees received a not so warm welcome if they tried to approach upper management. You and your work-life balance mattered! Summer hours were a great perk that I do not have now. Profit-sharing plan for employees! This is the only company I ever worked for that offered this to employees. Employees were invested in helping the company save money because they knew it would end up in their pockets. Employee discounts were amazing! Many a family member received sublimated sweatshirts the last year I worked there. Lastly, the people! I stay in touch with many wonderful coworkers that I had the pleasure of working with at Champro.

Cons

There are times that you can be very busy and then the pace slows down towards the end of the year. This is mostly due to the selling cycles in sporting goods and it more than balanced out in the end. When I first started, there were some disconnects with communication across different departments and there was a big push for improvement in that area. Champro was leaps and bounds ahead of where they were when I left. Aside from that, nothing that doesn't exist in every other company.
