Definitely one of the best companies to work for
9 Jul 2017 - Program Manager in SingaporeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
its a workplace that does not differentiate capabilities between men and women, yet provides the flexibility that women need in times when they have to care for progeny
Cons
there are pockets which still need to work on work-life balance, as well as recognition of smart work ( apart from hard work)

Pros
Excellent salary and benefits. Flexible working. Technology to enable work efficiency. Well respected and you are generally empowered especially with the right management
Cons
Imbalance of resources between US and other theaters . At times worknoverliad occurs and work life balance becomes a struggle. Highly political. Constantly re-organising. Over complicate things and use of acronyms. Over communication.

Good Benefits but lousy management
8 Aug 2021 - Program Manager in SingaporeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Benefits are ok as compare to others, colleagues are great and helpful. You will learn a great experience there.
Cons
Little work-life balance. Works are hectic. If you are not in the good book of your management, get ready to go. They will find fault in you even though the process might be set up before your time, you will be blamed. In front of you, will tell you if you need help look for them, they are here to make you successful. But at your back, say bad things about you.
Continue readingWe are sorry to hear about your personal experience, and appreciate you taking the time to inform us so that we may inform our Leadership as well. Cisco's focus on culture means we understand that we will always have room for improvement, and while many Glassdoor reviews speak to employees feeling that Cisco is a great place to work – we realize there is still work that needs to be done to ensure our conscious culture resonates to all teams. As an employee, I'm sorry this happened to you, but can also validate that there are many ways to share concerns internally with our leadership and People and Communities (HR) teams who will address it firmly while also being compassionate. Initiatives like Leader Day and Leader Check-ins, help to develop our leadership and address concerns. There are also multiple opportunities to provide feedback from the employee’s perspective. These are just a couple of ways Cisco is working towards achieving this goal.

Pros
Good employees benefits, ability to work from home, compensation is reasonable and good.
Cons
No work life balance, promotion is limited unless you are part of the inner circle. Nepotism is obvious and practice openly.

Great place & excellent engineers but pulled down by bureaucracy and middle management
16 Nov 2011 - Consulting Systems Architect in SingaporeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Great engineers and perhaps the best place to work if you are a network guy or IP guy. Information sharing within company is excellent and there will be dozens of people coming forward to share with you when you shout for help. The single best aspect of benefits/work is flexible timings. No one asks you what time you are coming or going as long you deliver the results. Training is wonderful and opportunities to learn are tremendous. Connecting & networking aspects are great if you are in the consulting or sales roles.
Cons
Single biggest problem is bureaucracy. you'd be surprised to see the amount of documentation required for "internal processes" and most of the times you spend time internally rather than externally. i.e. with Customer. Top management is OK but the problem lies @ middle layer. most of the times they've their own agendas and its frustrating to manage the different agendas. Work-life balance is quite bad as most of the time you're lost in the tons of emails, documents and ever lasting meetings/webex calls. If you happen to be in the technical sales then literally you work almost every day including weekends & public holidays due to the "urgent requests" from customers and AM's. Heavy focus on USA makes things difficult for people working in rest of the regions too..

Great for new employees and if you work 12-14 hours every day
15 Jun 2021 - Technical Team Lead TCE in Boston, MARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Good trainings are available to all Cisco employees. Excellent company for new young Padawan and if you join at management level
Cons
As a global company it is expected to work atleast 12-14 hours a day. No concept of work life balance. While it is good to do that when you join the company for first year but expecting that for all the years something is a miss. Opportunities of growth only available if you are in the same location and bonding with management. There is no concept of providing performance feedback of your peers to level above them anonymously.

Good for budding engineers
9 Aug 2021 - Principal Network Architect in Atlanta, GARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
If you love technology and live and breathe and learn it. This is the right place. IN general, in the earlier part of the career, this is the case.
Cons
As you grow further, promotions and salary bumps become smaller and smaller. On the other hand, you get afraid of what is out there and suffer unless you are bold enough to step out, and then you see how much more your value is. Work-life balance can be out of whack for some in CX who handle multiple accounts.
