Big company, terrible progression

Pros

The only reason to work here is to have a well known name on your resume.

Cons

There is almost no career progression. The majority of staff are getting 1-3% raises and recently many have received promotions, with expectations of more responsibility, but no pay raise. There is a very very high staff turnover due to this.

Pros

Company is at the fore front of leading the local design scene. Spearheading many key architectural design movements, championing local talent whenever it finds an opportunity to. You are expected to do a awful lot of work, but in doing so, you will learn invaluable skills/knowledge along the way. Many success stories happen outside of the company for this very reason.

Cons

There are many cons, but it many of which are not idiosyncratic to DP. Just to name a few: 1. Leaders are old and have no interest in upskilling. 2. Heavily driven by P&L. Business before employees, or even self, at times. 3. Everyone is disposable, they even tell you up front. 4. Long hours, and expected to commit long hours. All you hear about 'you have to manage your own time', basically paraphrases to 'we dont care how you do it, you just have to do it, if it is tasked upon you' 5. Company regimes and policies which affects work flow seriously retarded with heavy handed P&L decision making as compass Could go on for days but these top 5 are reasons why the company is undergoing a transitional phase now.

Pros

exposure to good projects good place to learn and to strat your career

Cons

-it is difficult to move up because they tend to give a specific task to employees -poor work-life balance -lack of flexibility -old-style corporation very hierarchical -in big projects there are too many directors that don't know the project and talk because of their title -poor culture. there is a lot of gossip and drama. -Tend to exploit hard work -even though it's a "global firm" it's very local and it is difficult to integrate.
