Pros

Initially, the company showcased experienced individuals in GM, PM, and DVM roles, which promised valuable insights into the job and potential impacts on staff from any changes.

Cons

Unfortunately, with the arrival of new leadership, there were sweeping changes that raised questions about their compatibility with the pet industry and the company's core values. These recent shifts left the organization in disarray, eroding the qualities that once made Destination Pet a tolerable workplace. The new operations model heavily relies on individuals connected to the upper leadership, sometimes at the expense of relevant pet care experience. The stability of the operations team has been disrupted, raising doubts about the expertise and suitability of these new hires. The work culture now faces significant challenges, from overwhelming workloads and inadequate compensation to a lack of transparency in performance evaluations. The changing bonus structure is a constant source of frustration for managers, as it often undermines their incentives. Pay imbalances tied to location revenue have also created fairness concerns. Additionally, there are ongoing discussions about the company's efforts in diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. While committees have been established, their effectiveness remains uncertain.

Another Corporate Failure

Pros

Of course the animals, but many clients are leaving due to inconsistency.

Cons

True animal or leadership professionals should steer clear of this company. They are buying up as many vets and pet resorts as possible, will tell that business everything they want to hear, and then leave them hanging. They are in a multitude of harassment and discrimination conflicts. Most positive reviews you see are from corporate leadership hounding employees to write good reviews. They tell understaffed clinics that they will get more candidates if they write these good reviews. I think this company started with good intentions but the original CEO left years ago and after that, it's just a revolving door of people who have never even worked with animals.

Pros

The schedule can be nice

Cons

Everything. They feed you all these false hopes and promises and will give you a tiny taste of the good life before ripping the rug under you and especially the staff. They do not care about their employees at all and will take advantage in ANY way possible. They have no value for technicians even though they are what’s keeping the practice alive and will continue to demean them. I’m looking for another job and if they are partner with destination pet I’m definitely not working there. THEY WILL SELL YOU ON A FALSE DREAM. Do not fall for it. You have been warned.
