Pros
Very strong drug discovery engine - Big pharma companies (including Sanofi, Exelixis, Celgene, BMS, GSK) have utilized Adagene's drug discovery engine for designing their protein therapeutics. The company also has ongoing clinical collaborations with Merck and Roche. The team is one of the best I worked with in the biotech industry. Our colleagues have lots of prior experience working in top big pharma in the US. Everyone is seasoned in their field, collegial, very knowledgeable and work so hard. Most are bilingual in English and Chinese (their English level is native or near native, which is amazing).
Cons
The hours are long - can be from 9am to 11pm on most week days. The team members are spread across US (West and East Coast) and China, which makes US evenings heavy with meetings (this is the only overlap time for the three locations to get together for important team discussions and decisions). For a small to mid-size company (250-300 people), Adagene is doing a lot of work in drug discovery, preclinical and clinical development. Lots of learning opportunities but the workload does get heavy at times.
