Pros
- The name itself: Amazon/AWS. - Variety of career opportunities. Being able to move across team (with internal loops) is very nice. - Many resources to learn. - If you are in tech, you have a free AWS account to test (with a limit of course). - Good culture. - Almost everyone is professional and nice.
Cons
- The workload varies from team to team. - Like any other work place, your blocker for growth might be your manager or the team culture. However, what is advertised is shinier than the real thing. - I am not sure about the diversity, openness and the work-life balance. - You need to continuously "raise the bar". This is a nice slogan, but it is a double-edge blade and can be used by different "human" managers in different ways.
