Pros
- matching 401K - full time job with mediocre benefits - below average pay for industry but it is better than being homeless
Cons
Where to start? Amica has gone downhill rapidly in the last 2 years (see recent reviews). All remaining employees are extremely burnt out/disgusted by how this company is being run. Corporate blatantly refuses to listen to employee feedback which has led to hundreds of people quitting across all departments. They attempted to regionalize/restructure which has been an epic failure. Employees were given poor training on the additional states they were required to be licensed in (same pay) and it is embarrassing taking back-to-back calls not knowing what you're talking about. Amica is losing a significant amount of business. Insureds are now realizing there is no longer something that sets us apart from the Geicos and Progressives of the world. Amica prides itself on "culture" which is why we were all rushed back into the office during a global pandemic when in reality it is a tactic for them to micromanage and watch our every move because they do not trust employees and there is zero transparency. The people making decisions at the top are completely blinded by their own pride and ignorance, not recognizing what it's like to be on the front-line servicing dissatisfied customers all day. Two years ago it was not like this... most insureds were pleasant and happy with our service, but this is no longer the case due to the regionalization. Mental health is deteriorating by the day and accommodations from DOCTORS are being ignored/declined for the employees who request to work from home for legitimate reasons. They are professional gas lighters... reminds me of a sick family dynamic that desperately needs an outside perspective to guide them on how to make things right. However, pride has blinded the executives in C-level suites so much so that they're unable to admit their poor decisions are what led us to where we are now as a company.
