Pros
Some of the common folk at Apex are great and will be friends that I hold near and dear to me for the rest of my life.
Cons
I'm not sure where to even begin. Apex Hosting used to be the top dog of the Minecraft hosting realm; however, after being acquired by Nitrado, the quality of service, hardware, and personnel have gone downhill. Every value or trait that Apex has built its company on has been thrown out the window. But don't get me wrong, this is not all Nitrado's fault. Apex Hosting operates mostly independently of Nitrado, and Apex's problems are their own. Internal morale has been drastically low for the past two years; however, despite record sales, record revenue, and support inflow being busy, morale has gone beyond rock bottom after the layoff of 4 employees. Low-level leadership does not look out for the people below them in their departments, and upper-level leadership and Nitrado C-level do not take input or criticism anywhere other than the bin. In fact, Nitrado C-level members, specifically the CEO, became visibly angry when confronted and challenged about their decision to lay off 4 team members, and became defensive over how much he is being paid. Human Resources has frequent errors and delays in pay, and need to be corrected often on common labor laws and regulations. I was also reminded that I "can be terminated at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice" when I received a minor pay raise. (Thanks for showing you care.) Any issues you have with HR, pay, or problems within the workplace will be escalated to other members of the parent company's HR department, which can sometimes take weeks or months to resolve. Speaking out within the workplace makes you a target for management, and taking time off for mental health has recently caused other peer-level employees to attack you and to "at least think of the other people on your shift." Yes-men were picked for department leads, and more qualified candidates were passed over, and some were even fired without proper warning. Upper-level management and Nitrado C-level members do not listen to suggestions, current problems, or criticism. They are tone-deaf and disassociated with the bulk of the people below them and the issues that they face. Conversing with them is, most of the time, counter-productive. You are not allowed to exercise your federally protected right to talk about your workplace conditions, workplace topics, pay/benefits, or converse with each other outside of work. If any attempt about this is found out, it will be shut down immediately. (I have proof of this) Contractors are also required to work scheduled hours, which is against federal law. Nitrado has a habit of (attempting to) take down their negative Glassdoor reviews, and you can see proof of this in their negative reviews on their page. I will be checking this review every day to ensure it stays up, and if it is removed, it will be re-posted.
