      Toxic, constant gaslighting

      Pros

I have gained some great friends working here at ARTSY.

      Cons

I encountered one of the rudest and unprofessional experiences here at ARTSY. My friends who hear my stories are appalled at what I went through and to this day, I get disappointed. First of all, ARTSY and management lack empathy. They do not care about you and your well being. There is developing finger pointing behavior but when it comes to management and their negligence, they turn the other side. When a problem arise, it is your problem. Pay is also extremely low and they ensure you get the smallest raise with terrible excuses. Lack of transparency. Lastly, some managers are amazing and are always looking out for their team, but mine was definitely not this type. Constant gaslighting, retaliating behavior, bullying, insecurity, and lieing. This manager of mine made me cry several times after work, and changed my entire personality. I am now skeptical and no longer bubbly as I used to be.

        Pros

-good work/life balance -lots of opportunity -fast paced I returned from mat leave not that long ago and have a different perspective on the workplace than I did before. As am ambitious person who doesn't want to have to take a step back, it's been rewarding to continue to advance, feel like I have the same opportunities as my male peers, lots of women leaders, can work from home 3 days / week, and generally feel like there isn't a stigma to being a parent.

        Cons

-Artsy does a lot of different things. Sometimes it feels like too much or things can be a distraction -Some teams can be a bit siloed from the rest of the organization (though this has been improving)

          Pros

Artsy has gone through a lot of change in the past few years, but with the success of the company at the core of all decisions made. Exec and sr management always try to be as open as possible (and this is much more open than other companies I've been at) and leave the door open for feedback, debate, and discussion. Flexible, supportive, and transparent HR structures allow people to get their work done in a way that suits them best, and company and team goals are out in the open. When you do good work, it's noticed around the company, lauded, and rewarded.

          Cons

Wide disconnect in family leave policies btwn team members based in the US and those based in the UK. While this is driven by different national policies, and the US policy is good in comparison to some US companies, the difference is hard felt.

        Marketing Manager

Went through multiple rounds of interviews for a manager role (Screening, hiring manager, group panel) and yesterday got an email inviting me to the final round with the VP. Only 2 hours after I responded and the recruiter sent an invite for the interview, I get an email saying they “are actually going a different direction for the role”. Upset yet another opportunity yanked away. I emailed back politely asking what happened to cause this sudden change for feedback purposes. Any thoughts (cont)

Hi, I had an interview Thursday. Back story, I worked with this company a few years ago for 2 years. I ended up quitting, I had applied because they are under new management. I explained to the manager everything that happened etc. She told me that there was high competition this hiring round. After the interview she said if all went well she would contact me with an update. (Yes/no) I reached out Thursday evening but the other manager didn't have an answer. (Check comments for the rest)
