Pros
Great first job for those right out of college. Family atmosphere with all the benefits and dysfunction of a family- those who get ahead spend a lot of time networking with owners and upper management. Great full benefits package especially for retail. Employee Discount is great but prices are so high already, very few employees can afford to shop where they work.
Cons
No room for advancement as they hire managers from outside the company. Lots of rules which are enforced inconsistently. Lots of deadweight- legacy hires- that do very little while newer team members pick up the slack. Nepotism rules hiring practices. Patriarch creates very limited opportunities for women.
