Pros

Make your own business contacts representing a grassroots way to advertise. I called on 40+ companies and tried to sell the concept to the larger businesses on the island. It is an excellent way for planting you company in front of people in your community. I really wanted to have this work.

Cons

I paid my own way to Maui for sales training. I was suppose to be be reimbursed. I was not. I figured my mileage out transversing the island for 2 months and it was $600. The mentality is to sell the ad once and on price. The art on the carts is often faded, and the carts are stolen by the homeless. The buzz on the island isn't good. I was given some nice accounts to resell but the advertisers backed out. Even if it was an existing account I had to get a deposit. This often killed the deal. The larger companies and institutions want to be billed.
