Pros

95% of the remaining employees are kind, genuine people. Free subscription box (for now)

Cons

It's by far the most toxic work environment I've ever encountered, and the fault lies solely on the CEO - and maybe a bit on his 2-3 sycophantic enablers who've been with him since the beginning. What’s most frustrating about Cratejoy is the lost potential. It really could be a successful company with competent leadership. But that leadership doesn’t exist. The CEO operates as an autocrat who is completely enthralled with his own genius. A bully with deep-seated issues around female authority which manifest as blatant misogyny. The comments he makes publicly are revolting, but everyone is too scared of his violent mood swings to actually call him on it. All of your successes will be his successes. All of your failures are your own. He has an incredible ability to always make the wrong decision when it’s left up to him. And when he no longer sees you as valuable to his own desires, you’re done. A typical meeting with him begins with him announcing that he has diarrhea so he may need to cut out. This happens roughly half the time. This is not a joke.

Pros

Coworkers were great, benefits were great, fully remote

Cons

This company was so poorly managed that I'm surprised it's still around. I din't think they'll ever be in a position to hire staff again, but if they ever do avoid at all costs.
