Pros

The people and product. Everyone is so interesting, 95% very down to earth and lovely to work with. The firm is also independently owned which lends itself to a lot of autonomy.

Cons

The trade-off for being an independent firm is that in lean years we can have tight budgets. I wish the firm could make bigger, quicker investments in IT and new products/initiatives. But we have had continual improvements over the years and things certainly feel more professional compared to 5 years ago. The structure is also very flat, so its a great place for junior people and senior folks, but we don't always have a lot of room for mid-career growth. But its been a great place to build experience and we've seen a number of great people come back to new roles after additional experience outside the firm.

Pros

Nice people Interesting work Work from anywhere in August and last two weeks of the year Small firm means you get to work w folks across teams Work life balance

Cons

Your experience depends on team Higher management creates policies without consulting employees There are alot of favorites (ppl who have worked w firm for 10+ years) and then others who stay 2 years or less. Not much in between, basically you fit into the culture or you don’t Doesn’t value diversity, lots of white men w big egos Career progression is limited in many roles/teams
