Issues I've personally experienced or witnessed while at Fidelity described in other reviews: Company politics. Bullying and/ or ostracization by managers. Company politics. Managers allowing their favored subordinates to bully others, while swift retaliation awaits those that dare criticize their annointed ones, however justified. Company politics. Too many managers haven't a clue about the application(s) they're responsible for. Company politics. Too many managers that lack real leadership abilities. Company politics. Endless, unproductive, inescapable company politics. Endless, unproductive office meetings. Below average pay. Uninspiring work; It's no surprise the results of their annual engagement survey are so poor. Company politics. Poor quality development, old tech. Fidelity mandate bespoke everything, so expect restricted functionality, industry standard methodologies (such as Agile) to be bloated and incomprehensible and the inevitable compromises in the quality of your own work as a result. The office atmosphere is more like a library than a workplace. Company politics. Promotions based on factors other than merit. Company politics. Hiring based on factors other than merit. Company politics. Those with below average technical abilities are too often tolerated. Company politics. Did I mention the company politics? I only bring it up again because at Fidelity their brand of politics is continuously shoved under your nose and right in you face, so it's better you find out now if you can stomach it.
