Pros
- Very intelligent and interesting people work here. - Culturally very young and lively. The people around you will make it feel worthwhile for a long time. - Interesting-ish problems to solve - Some managers are really good, but others are very aligned with senior leadership in EQ.
Cons
- No work life balance possible at this job. Expect to regularly hear about other engineers getting "project codenamed"d as a verb for staying past 7pm. - Regular reorganization and layoffs. A 9% r&d layoff happened after the first ever profitable quarter. Great reward. Many had no warning in previous performance reviews. - Callous senior leadership has the EQ of three year olds learning the word "mine" for the first time. - Hemorrhaging real talent as engineers realize they're being overworked and underpaid. Expect to have interns propping up critical parts of the company and important information to disappear every 3 months. - No concept of timeline and what can actually be done. Totally unrealistic expectations given limited staffing to layoffs and quiting. Running 4 simultaneous major R&D programs with a fraction of historical engineers on those programs. - Pay is abysmal for silicon valley level work expectations. I'm paid more at a 4 person small business firm than here. - Unlimited time off is very pressure and manager based. I know many people who did not use it out of fear. - No 401k matching - A new work culture of fear, competition, and intense pressure to perform. It does not work and it will continue to push away anyone who has any life outside of work. - I cannot more strongly recommend not working at a place. This job permanently damaged my mental and physical health and the mental health of those around me. It has taken me months to recover from the pressure and stress I was under here. Before working here STRONGLY consider why they are riding a 3.0 on glassdoor right now.
