Pros

I loved how original our name was

Cons

In my opinion, management did not have a strong grasp of (might even say was actively ignoring) the dire state of firm and refused to take the critical actions to restructure (save) failing lines of business. Instead, poor, financially reckless decisions are made unilaterally with virtually no oversight or consideration. Investors are being left in the dark, but they are beginning to catch on to the firm’s incompetence and are investing their money elsewhere, which is why Investcorp’s retail and institutional fundraising has slowed and the firm is heavily struggling to get reup commitments to their funds. Performance ranges from so-so to poor in different (sometimes even competing) strategies. Intense bureaucracy and biased decision making lacking the appropriate analysis and scrutiny are leading the firm in a downward special. A lot of talent left the firm in 2023. There is not one person left who I would trust to guide the firm out of the current crisis it is in, which is extremely concerning given the (alleged) $50bn-valued size of this asset manager
