Set expectations that you would get rewarded for your hard work, but I reality you got a free lunch or happy hour occasionally. They went away from meaningful bonuses, that were used as a hook to get you started there. Bonuses were based on company performance, but if the company had an under performing year, you would get a couple extra days off at Christmas, as the real reward. They preached a lot of Christianity, but in reality, the executive leaders would make comments behind people’s back, if they ultimately did not fit their view as an ideal follower/employee. Sometimes projects/saws ideas were so last minute, departments had to drop everything to come up with ideas to support the initiative. The executive leadership was very closed minded to ideas outside of their own.
