Pros

Incredibly talented group on individuals! Would be a worthwhile company if they actually followed through on their promises? Seemingly great pay, benefits package and “unlimited” PTO.

Cons

Seeing their current advertising campaigns actually disgusts me. They are deceiving their clientele as being better than traditional banking structures, while incentivizing their employees to post inaccurate Glassdoor ratings. Worry not, they are a “Canadian Owned Bank for Canadians” that is moving part of their operations offshore and taking advantage of persons unable to secure traditional lines of credit?

Pros

- There are a fair amount of smart people at the company and many are good people - The company might eventually IPO and get you a return, although the dollar value of options granted to new employees is quite low - You can write Go

Cons

- Upper management is a self-congratulatory echo chamber - Most middle-management is not effective. There is a mix of those who are well intended and overburdened, and some who are straight up incompetent and thrive due to being able to project themselves well upward - Weekly forced kool aid all company standup. It is pretty gross if you are a critical thinker - Advertised coaching system and associated functions simply serve to provide validation to upper management. It is an echo chamber - Top performers, A players have two choices: integrate into the top layer and pretend and/or try your best to maximize productivity and find yourself frustrated by those who derive value from being blockers and posturing - Some inexperienced and mid tier caliber people who are a bit big fish in a small pond - Many people high up in the company think that they are experts, but in reality have low experience level and derive lessons only from a single toxic environment.
