Pros
Working in the laboratory is great, people have been here for a lot of years and there is a reason, not a lot of turnover, Unionised work for lab responsibilities, pay scales and raises, benefits... Working hours are good and fairly flexible. Pension contribution since you start, not after probation period, health insurance, a lot of schemes you can take advantage of.
Cons
Out of the 22 days of holidays to start, 13/14 are chosen by the company for summer and Christmas shutdown so it does not leave you a lot to work with. Not too much career progression.
