Pros
Pros: -Some lovely individuals working there make up for not great environment -Seemed like it had potential
Cons
Cons: -Unfortunately, I can confirm that all the other negative reviews are correct and I ignored my better judgement when accepting the offer -Beyond the drama in the office, it is disorganised to the point where you cannot work: 1. The lack of operations control/ops director in the company makes for unrealistic product timelines, SKU changes at the last minute, ordering 1s and 2s of pieces, and therefore making future planning impossible, especially from a photography, social media and marketing perspective. This meant we were having photoshoots every week that were organised extremely last minute and without proper consideration. 2. The lack of trust/organisation coming from a top down approach - This translated into poor planning, being cut out of important meetings, egos getting in the way of efficiency and sadly, a toxic environment, fuelled by blame culture and childish behaviour, where no employee was willing to take responsibility and move on 3. Lack of management structure - unfortunately, there isn't a management team and this led to a lack of structure on job roles/company structure and created in-born hierarchies like playing intricate games of chess. It was never clear who to get information from and even after asking for an org chart on day 1 of working there, the company was unable to produce one.... 4. Felt like I couldn't do what I set out to do - I set out a very clear plan of what needed to be done and it felt like it was never really either a) understood by the CEO and b) felt less important than fighting fires for rude customers and over-catered customer service 5. The customers are so rude!! They will yell down the phones and the CEO believes these are the be all and end all to the company, so you will have to deal with them 6. Three month notice period - even as a senior employee, this worried me. I was told that a lot of other employees who handed in their three months wouldn't serve the full three months and some were even escorted off the premises in extreme situations, but I couldn't bear taking that chance 7. Two people left within my first week, and four people handed in their notices in the short time I was there 8. Internal politics to getting things signed off 9. Owner of the company is not very clued in about anything in relation to any other respect of the company - especially marketing - except for design, and even then fails to put basic information on line sheets and understand product timeline. Doesn't understand even basic personas, marketing timelines or digital PR - is still promoting product using traditional print magazines with extremely small readership and banking on wholesale partners, when it's clear those two things are not generating revenue for the company
