My experience at Madewell in Bethesda has been deeply concerning due to the management (Beth-Distrct Manager, Brandee-Store Manager and Priscilla-Assistant Manager) at this location. The leadership culture is unprofessional and, at times, openly hostile toward associates. Employees are not treated with basic respect, and the work environment feels tense and unsupportive. Communication from upper management to store staff is frequently dismissive, disrespectful, and lacking accountability. Concerns raised by associates are often minimized or deflected rather than addressed constructively. There is a troubling pattern of behavior where employees may feel invalidated or misled when attempting to speak up, which creates a culture of fear rather than trust. This location urgently needs stronger leadership, clear accountability, and a commitment to treating employees with dignity and professionalism. Prospective employees should approach with caution and be aware of the workplace dynamics.
