Pros

Staff are highly dedicated, welcoming, and care so much about the kids. That's the main reason why some of them keep coming back, despite other issues. The school tries hard to be innovative and keep up with current education theories. There's free food a lot, and there were many staff get-togethers at local restaurants to bond and decompress.

Cons

Behaviors are the worst I've ever seen, and while they try to use a restorative approach to help students with emotional regulation-caused behaviors, this leads to a lack of any discipline until the kid eventually just gets suspended. There are so many people on the admin team that you don't know who's ultimately in charge, which leads to mixed signals, confusing structure, and so much disorganization. I saw more than a few toxic admin-teacher situations during my time there - several people were fired for bizarre reasons, while many others left due to frustration with kids and admin. Teachers were blamed for student behaviors even when no support has been given to help a teacher with a classroom of 28+ kids. There was no consistency in this school. Literally day-to-day changes would be made to how to approach curriculum, to staff's roles (one person went from being a teacher to an aid to a sub to a behavior room supervisor; support staff are used more as subs than intervention support or ELL support), and schedule changes were constant. I think the lack of consistency is what causes so many of the behavior issues, and is a major stressor for staff here.
