Pros

Employees are young and most of them are friendly.

Cons

Too many to write down, but in short they are -no career path -repetitive boring tasks -unclean office, unhygienic environment -factory atmosphere -lack of basic office supplies like laptops and computers! -measuring the amount of work done per hour -micro-management -some leads are so annoying you want to cry -pathetic job profile, anything goes -minimum wage job with zero job satisfaction -favoritism is obvious -"fake" promotions -no growth, no incentives

Pros

- Fun, young staff - Great employee discount

Cons

This company is run by two extremely inexperienced, unempathetic founders (Rie Yano and Jie Zhang) who put financial gain before their employees. They're ruthless and will do whatever it takes to grow their business even at the expense and well being of their dedicated employees. The utmost priority is financial gain. Company culture? Nope. Investing in talent? Nope. Liveable wage? Nope. Benefits such as 401k, company equity etc? Dream on. The wage gap at this company is embarrassingly dramatic. The average fulfillment center employees wage (Leads included) is around $13 per hour. Meanwhile, members of the cofounder's team are being paid anywhere from $50,000 to upwards of $170,000 for producing laughable, uninspiring work. Want a raise or additional responsibility? You'll be told that you "don't understand the business" or "it's time to move on to a new job". I've repeatedly attempted to believe this company has my best interest in mind but I'm ALWAYS let down. If you're looking for a dynamic work environment with fair compensation, stellar benefits, and transferrable job-related skills, I can assure you that Material World is not that place.
