Pros

- Some supportive colleagues at the peer level. - Opportunity to gain resilience working in a challenging environment.

Cons

- Senior leadership, including the CEO, have little to no understanding of software delivery best practices, yet retain full authority over decision-making. This results in poor prioritisation, unclear direction, and a constant reshuffling of resources mid-project. - The CEO gives the impression of being open to feedback but often defends her favourites and dismisses genuine concerns, leaving employees unheard. - Favouritism is common, with some staff given leniency and support while others experience micromanagement and mistrust. The initial warm welcome quickly fades once you’re part of the team. - Employees are not trusted to manage their own time or workload. Micromanagement is the norm, and even experienced professionals have limited autonomy over their roles. - Leadership can be highly manipulative and will use any opportunity to find faults in your work, often blaming employees’ “performance” rather than acknowledging the facts or systemic issues. - The initial employment contract contains a number of red flags — be cautious before signing, and do not agree to terms that appear unfair, as they will almost certainly be enforced against you later. - Meetings are often scheduled during lunch hours or personal time, showing little respect for work–life balance. - Pay and leave management are consistently mishandled, with frequent payroll errors, unpaid leave incorrectly applied, and a lack of transparency around balances in the HR system. Rectifying these requires repeated follow-ups, adding unnecessary stress. - The business regularly confuses the roles of Business Analysts, Producers, and Project Managers, expecting one person to cover multiple functions without clear distinction. This creates delivery risks and team burnout. - The CEO actively encourages and incentivises current employees to post positive Glassdoor reviews, which skews the company’s overall rating and misrepresents the reality for new starters. - Overall, the culture lacks trust, respect, and maturity. Politics and favouritism drive decision-making more than skills or performance.

We’re sorry to hear that your experience at MPF didn’t meet your expectations. We welcome constructive criticism and regularly act on employee feedback. However, we do want to ensure that future candidates receive accurate information about our policies and culture. We’re proud of our 14-year track record of delivering award-winning digital projects and supporting a diverse global team. All employment contracts are prepared by a reputable Sydney legal firm and reviewed annually to ensure they are fair, transparent, and compliant with NSW employment law. We always encourage new hires to read and discuss their terms before signing. As a global team operating across multiple time zones, meetings occasionally occur in your nominated traditional lunch hours. In return, employees are trusted to manage their own time with flexibility to balance personal commitments and client needs. Leave and payroll are self-managed through CharlieHR and processed by an external accounting team every two weeks for accuracy. We aim for complete transparency and support employees to self-manage their leave responsibly. At MPF, we intentionally merge roles such as Producer, Project Manager, and Business Analyst to create more holistic, client-facing positions. This model suits individuals who enjoy variety and ownership, though we understand it may not suit everyone. MPF never asks or incentivises employees to leave positive reviews. Team members are free to share honest reflections, and we welcome all balanced feedback that helps others understand our workplace. We’ll continue to build an environment that values accountability, collaboration, and respect across all levels of the business. We thank you for your time at MPF and wish you every success in your career ahead.

Pros

Working at Miroma Project Factory has been an incredibly positive experience. The standout feature of this company is the exceptional management team and their respect for work-life balance and resource allocation. As a developer, your technical advice is actually listened to. For instance, when dealing with legacy systems or major architectural upgrades (like transitioning frameworks), management trusts your judgment on what is worth fixing and what should be rebuilt. They don't force you into impossible deadlines; instead, they encourage transparent communication. If you are juggling multiple projects, the PMs and the GM are highly flexible, collaborative, and willing to renegotiate priorities to ensure you aren't overwhelmed. The team culture is highly professional, and you get to work alongside smart, pragmatic people who focus on delivering real value rather than just ticking boxes.

Cons

Because it's a dynamic environment with multiple active projects (and some legacy platforms in maintenance mode), you might find yourself context-switching occasionally. However, as long as you communicate your bandwidth clearly, management is fully supportive in helping you manage the load.

Pros

Having been with Miroma Project Factory for several years, I can confidently say the engineering work is fantastic. The projects are highly diverse and interesting, which keeps the day-to-day work engaging and prevents stagnation. If you want to expand your skill set, this is a great place to do it; there are constant opportunities to learn new technologies. The company genuinely supports this growth by providing dedicated time to learn and covering certificate training The people here are friendly and supportive, making for a highly collaborative team environment. The office is nicely decorated, and well-stocked with complimentary snacks and drinks. Smaller perks, like getting your birthday off, work from anywhere week, 2 days remote per week, add to a positive overall benefits package

Cons

Project deadlines can sometimes be tight, requiring a strong sense of urgency. When it comes to communication, feedback has sometimes been delivered in a very direct manner. However the company is actively improving how feedback is delivered to make it more constructive
