Pros

Insurance and the vacation stays

Cons

In the last year Ocean Job Lot has basically screwed its ATLs. We went from salary to hourly with no bonus. We were allowed 45 hours. But vacations and sick days we lost money since we could only get 8 hours instead of the 9. Then one week before Christmas, we were informed, despite record sales, that we are being cut to 40 and dont dare go 40.1 hours. For most of us that is almost $200+ a week we are losing. And the company just got an award for best company to work for. Total BS!

Thank you for your long-term dedication to Ocean State Job Lot. We sincerely value your five-plus years with Ocean State Job Lot and appreciate your honesty regarding recent transitions. We understand that changes to compensation and overtime availability are difficult, especially during the holiday season. The shift from salary to hourly was intended to align with labor regulations, but we hear your frustration regarding how this has impacted your take-home pay and the calculation of your benefits. Your feedback about our communication and Core Principles is being shared with our leadership team. We strive to live up to our reputation as a top employer, and that includes listening when our associates feel we’ve missed the mark. We would welcome the chance to speak with you directly. Please feel free to reach out to our Senior HR Business Partner Ed Kruger at e.kruger@osjl.com to discuss your concerns further.
