Pros

I was hired almost two years ago and have moved on, but still pick up occasional contract work from Page1. I was a little horrified to read the negative reviews previously posted here. Other reviewers are saying that there are no advancement opportunities, but advancement is a complex issue when working for a small company. Are you going to be given your own team after working there a year? No, because small companies simply cannot support that kind of structure. I would guess that the people complaining about it were people hoping to go to work for a huge corporation where they were nameless faces in the crowd, and advancement was as easy as showing up on time. It is unreasonable to expect rapid advancement in a stable company with ~50 employees. Were there opportunities? Absolutely. While I was there, management sponsored a startup for a motivated employee with drive and vision. I was pleased to discover that several department heads had been promoted from within, and there were team-lead positions held by senior staff. Disgruntled employees are going to complain about management, but I found upper management was very approachable if you took the initiative to talk to them. I was also glad to hear that upper management was working with a corporate coach to work on strategic vision and management skills. People who don't have much business experience don't understand that change takes time if you also want to ensure the continued existence of your business. The work environment was creative and fun. Most of the people who worked there were really great people - an interesting mix of personalities and interests, and the top people were always willing to share skills and knowledge. Page1 was very involved in community and volunteer activities, supporting local non-profit organizations like The Action Center, and The Second Wind Fund, local animal shelters, and environmental causes like Adopt-a-Highway and Volunteer Outdoor Colorado. There were many perks: a great benefits package, company parties, work-from-home, and gift cards as recognition for good work. Page1 is a great company that is changing and adapting to stay on top of its industry, and there are many long-time employees who would disagree with a term like 'stepping stone'. Recent restructuring has eliminated some areas of unprofitability, and added scalability that didn't exist before.

Cons

Page1 is a small company, so there is no guaranteed path to advancement. If you want growth opportunities, you have to be willing to show up for work with a good attitude, take on new challenges, and show initiative. Like most tech companies over the past 12 years, Page1 has had ups & downs, so if you are looking for a company that has only known expansive growth, this isn't it. If you like to complain without being willing to help fix problems or be constructive, Page1 is not the company for you. Lastly, the left-hand turn out of the parking lot is a pain, and it can occasionally take 5 minutes or more to get onto Colfax during afternoon rush-hour.

Everyone works together to create a culture of hard work and creative problem-solving. We have evolved as a company by pushing hard to keep up with the ever-changing landscape of digital marketing.

Cons

We have tested and implemented a variety of systems to optimize the kitchen and dish workflow. There is always room for improvement and one day we will attain excellence.

Pros

I definitely would not say that Page 1 Solutions is a 1-star experience. There is a very casual and laid-back culture that can be quite accommodating to people of various backgrounds and skill-level. While there is limited room for upper-management advancement, Page 1 does offer opportunities in various new roles for the willing and hard-working. So long as you have reliable productivity, schedules can be flexible and employees can make unique contributions to the overall company. They hire some decent people, so you will likely enjoy the company they keep.

Cons

Every company has its flaws. And because Page 1 is so small, the imperfections are much more noticeable. There is an imbalance between those who actually work-hard and those who pretend to work hard. The management team makes questionable decisions and can be highly protective of each other. Loyalty and seniority are highly valued here, which can be frustrating to the passionate and driven who are aiming to advance quickly.
