      Pros

The main reason to work here is the best combination of trajectory + people. Most companies I worked at have been a tradeoff. Either fast growing and exciting at the expense of people. Or they have warm, nice and caring people, but lack the competency to take the business to the next level. Saleswhale is the best combo of both. The people (esp. engineers and product) are ambitious, sharp AND they care about their colleagues and the company. When people ask me why I'm still at Saleswhale - I tell them - I joined for the product and exciting vision (CEO is charismatic), but I stayed for the people. If you can pass the (pretty high) hiring bar to work here, you honestly should consider joining :) The biggest thing I really like at Saleswhale is the culture of transparency. Management shoots straight and doesn't sugarcoat challenges. While this can be scary at times, this level of trust is also very empowering.

      Cons

In the spirit of transparency (which is one of our core values), I will put one thing here: It hasn't always been an easy ride. We went through a round of layoffs back in 2020. That was extremely painful, having to say goodbye to cherished team members. The CEO was relatively young, and he didn't exactly handle it perfectly. This resulted in threshing, damaged morale and erosion in trust for a few months. I have to say, we rallied really beautifully in 2021 though. And when we make an exciting announcement in a few weeks (can't reveal now)... this becomes one of the most beautiful comeback stories in Singapore startup history.

        Pros

Culture, colleagues, work-life balance, product, and strategy

        Cons

The company is international so sometimes you have to wait a day to talk to colleagues

          Pros

I work on the US side of things. This is by far the most transparent company I’ve ever worked for. I still remember my first week when I told our CEO that ‘we may be too transparent’ because everyone knows everything good and bad. But after working here for quite some time now, I completely understand why we do it and why it makes us who we are now. Nothing is hidden and all employees are kept in the loop on all matters, big and small. You gotta wear many different hats, especially in this startup of a startup here in the US and that’s what makes it so much fun! You aren’t doing the same thing everyday, and everyone needs to contribute across all departments – marketing, product, sales, support, hr… Great culture, great people, great product – overall a fun place to grow and work!

          Cons

          - Time differences are always a concern. Someone is going to sacrifice their time either early in the morning or late at night. But we all do our best to accommodate each other so no one is getting the short end of the stick every time. - Benefits could be better. As the US team grows, I expect it to come on par with most US companies.

What are people’s thoughts on those personality and logic tests some companies made you do as part of the hiring process? I frankly don’t like them. I understand if the test is for people who more technical but for roles leaning more creative or ideas based - I don’t understand how patterns I’m forced to review in a short time tells them I’m worth it to get the Hiring manager round. One asked me 50 ques in 15 min. And they never tell how you did on the tests

Anyone have any stories of times where you declined an offer at one company (just because it wasn’t the exact right fit or you got another better offer at that time) and u successfully re-connect? Is that a burned bridge forever? Would they consider you for another job again?
