Pros

Super cool products & employee discounts

Cons

From day one, there were numerous red flags at SharkNinja. Terrible hiring process. Absolutely zero onboarding beyond the typical HR/benefits info. Saw 3 massive department reorgs in my 1yr of tenure. Lack of direction & structural planning from leadership makes me think regular reorgs or inevitable. ZERO work life balance. Prepare to obsess over SN and make it the center of your life. SN has the most atrocious culture I have ever experienced. No feeling of belonging and coworkers just feel like drones doing a job. The culture operates on fear of failing or getting publicly berated in meetings. Get ready to work early & late and even be bothered on PTO. Awful leadership & micromanagement from all levels and above. You will be a glorified PowerPoint builder of typically 50+ slides and be on endless meetings throughout each and every day of the week. Every single day is a fire drill with constantly changing priorities and extremely tight & unrealistic timelines. Despite seeing growth as a company, the focus remains solely on the bad so prepare to never be recognized or rewarded for any sort of success. Truly the worst work experience in my career that caused extreme anxiety & depression during my tenure. Highly recommend looking elsewhere for a career before settling into this nightmare. I typically take GlassDoor reviews with a grain of salt but the consistent theme of reviews for this company are spot on. I promise. Run and never look back.

Pros

Some good peers that make the days slightly bearable with the group chat of how ridiculous and hellish the place is

Cons

The speed and agility are just code names for ceo paranoia and inability to make and stick to decisions. Toxic environment perpetuated by the lifers. Entire departments are pit against each other. A culture of public shaming and blaming with a side of discrimination and misogyny. It is absolute chaos and makes you regress professionally because after a while all you do is “yes” the ceo and do things the Shark way which is essentially the Mark way and 0% what other orgs would do or what you learned about/experienced previously. Micromanaging starts from the very top. Product issues daily. People cry daily. Ridiculously high turnover. So much bullying and favoritism. Extremely top heavy and lots of VPs+ to attend meetings but not enough people to actually work. Those in leadership are also unprofessional and liabilities. No work life balance. No respect. Backstabby. Even the meeting are aggressive and called hacks, red teams, sledge hammer approach etc. The best way to be successful here is to be a super caffeinated visible sycophant that is fine with no life outside of work. People note the high comp but it’s not worth it and is not enough compared to the hours actually worked and all the stress and anxiety that comes with it. The moral and mental health here are the lowest I’ve ever seen.
