      Pros

Lateral mobility is good and there are opportunities to switch careers internally

      Cons

Management purports to lead by the motto “Empower every generation”. However recently announced that every employee must report to office daily. When faced with backlash and criticism, management cherry picked companies that are transiting to more work in office days as a reason, choosing to leave out progressive and growing companies that are giving employees flexibility or at the very least a four day in office week. This is amidst an upcoming shift in office locations that will not have fixed seatings. Compensation was dismal. Despite a strong profitable year, increment was way below inflation standards and management stated that analysts expected the company to do better, while also using pre-covid company results as a shield for the disappointing remuneration. There is without a doubt growing unhappiness and frustration amongst the employees. Management’s words are not backed up with action. If this continues it will be even more difficult to retain and attract talent.

Thank you for sharing your concerns. While we have requested all employees to return to the office from October 16, 2023, we recognise the value of flexibility in the workplace. Hence, we allow employees the flexibility to work from home to attend to personal matters or to focus on specific tasks that require a quiet environment, as long as it does not exceed one day per week. They would just have to inform their manager to pre-empt any disruptions to business operations. The flexibility of working from home must be balanced with the importance of having in-person attendance at the office. Being together in the office helps to foster teamwork and camaraderie, facilitates co-creation, ideation and innovation, and creates a stronger sense of belonging, vital for nurturing the organisation's culture and identity. Many of our employees, especially new hires, have shared that returning to the office increased their access to mentors and more experienced colleagues, established clearer work-life boundaries, and contributed to improved mental wellness. We recognise that change can be uncomfortable. Our employees who have personal needs for more flexibility in their workdays should talk to their manager and HR people partner. We have other flexible work arrangements that can be explored. We also understand that compensation is an important factor in employee satisfaction. We are committed to providing our employees with competitive compensation and benefits. We continually review our compensation practices to ensure that they are fair and equitable.
