Thank you for your feedback. We think it’s important for us to be clear on a couple of areas brought up. Firstly, in Feb 2022, Singtel announced publicly its plans to redevelop Comcentre into a smart building with sustainable designs and digital technologies that would eventually house our new and modern HQ. Consequently, all staff would have to relocate to other hubs to make way for Comcentre’s demolishment in 2024. Hub locations were shared with staff in Apr, and especially with new hires before they accepted the job offer. This transparency is important to be stated here. We can understand that not everyone would be happy with where they would have to move. It’s hard to compare any location to the heart of Orchard where Comcentre is at. Wherever feasible, we have tried to provide various transport options and will continue to review others. On the “work from office” comment, indeed we have asked all staff to return to the office from 16 Oct 2023. However, staff continue to have the flexibility to work from home to attend to personal matters or to focus on specific work that requires some quiet time to concentrate, so long as it doesn’t exceed one day per week. They would just have to inform their manager to pre-empt any disruptions to business operations. The flexibility of working from home has got to be balanced with the importance of having in-person attendance at the office. Being together in the office helps to foster teamwork and camaraderie, facilitates co-creation, ideation and innovation, and creates a stronger sense of belonging, vital for nurturing the organisation's culture and identity. Many of our employees, especially new hires, have shared that returning to the office increased their access to mentors and more experienced colleagues, established clearer work-life boundaries, and contributed to improved mental wellness. We recognise that change can be uncomfortable. Our employees who have personal needs for more flexibility in their workdays should talk to their manager and HR people partner. We have other flexible work arrangements that can be explored. Thank you.
