Toxic work culture and too much politics - Anonymous Employee Singtel Employee Review

Pros
The only pro here is the office location in front of Somerset MRT. So a lot of food options around.
Cons
Job security is a myth here no matter your residency status in SG. They don't directly layoff for cost cutting to avoid bad publicity. They will either put pressure to resign or else put in PIP and then terminate. It is worse than layoffs because there are no severance benefits provided. Lately heard that many people have been terminated using such tactics in their cost cutting efforts. Too much over-engineering being done instead of focusing on business features delivery. Overall strategy keeps switching from in-house development to vendor development every few years. Now they are again going back to vendor model it seems and hence the cost cutting.
