Pros

Company works in a nice industry. Some team members are nice

Cons

- They accuse you of things without any real knowledge. - I heard them call some team members "liars" and "lazy" with no real basis. - To say that the Snr. Management team is incompetent is an understatement. - If you don't agree, you're immediately sidelined. - They've gone through multiple rounds of lay-offs and sackings and they act like it normal and even laugh about it. - This is a company whereby you're clearly making money for the "founders" and they won't stop at anything until they achieve *their* goals, with absolutely no regard for the employees. Example: You'll be using YOUR OWN laptop and equipment and they give you a measly stipend to compensate. What a joke. This is a company who've receive MILLIONS in funding! - Wages are LOW. And if you try and request a pay rise they'll either laugh at you, or feel offended that you dare even approach it. - The company has no real direction or purpose. It's a shell set up to generate more and more VC funding and tracks to ridiculous metrics just to flaunt to investors. - If you step out of line, be warned. You're in for a rough ride.

Pros

Working at Smiler ticks all of the most important boxes for me. Here are some of the things that I love about working at Smiler: -The team is really fun, hard-working, and supportive. I definitely get the feeling we are all building something big together. And even though it is remote work I have been able to form bonds with my colleagues. It's a very welcoming place :) -There is a lot of trust in employees. I feel comfortable sharing my ideas, opinions, and feedback. -Flexible working hours. Employees can work on their own schedule and at times when they are most productive. It's amazing that you don't have to take vacation time to run to the post office for example! -Can work from abroad. -There is always a new challenge so I never get bored. -Growth opportunities. It's possible to be promoted or change roles. -If you like being creative and building things Smiler is perfect because there are lots of ways you can make an impact at the stage it is in now.

Cons

-Not many extra benefits. There is a monthly tech allowance but I would like to have a company pension savings fund.
